How to use it
SignPad opens with a sample name already rendered in a cursive style, so you can see how it works immediately. In Type mode, replace the sample with your own name and tap through the five style buttons — Classic, Elegant, Formal, Bold, and Flow — until one looks right. Since these use handwriting fonts already installed on your device, the exact look shifts a little between an iPhone, an Android phone, and a desktop browser; that is expected, not a bug.
Switch to Draw mode to sign freehand instead. Draw with a finger on mobile or a mouse on desktop, adjust the ink color from the presets (or pick a custom one), and drag the thickness slider for a bolder or finer line. Undo removes the last stroke, and Clear wipes the pad.
When it looks right, hit Download PNG to save a transparent-background image straight to your device. Everything happens on-screen: nothing you draw or type is uploaded, stored on a server, or sent anywhere at all. Your last-used mode, style, and color are remembered on this device for next time; the signature itself never is.
How it compares to DocuSign
SignPad and DocuSign solve related but different problems. DocuSign is a full e-signature platform: it manages documents, routes them to multiple signers in order, timestamps and certifies every signature for legal compliance, and tracks the whole process from “sent” to “completed.” That infrastructure is the entire reason companies pay for it.
SignPad keeps one small piece of that experience — creating a signature graphic — and drops everything else. There is no document upload, no sending, no multi-party workflow, and critically, no legal certification. A signature made here is a picture of a signature, not a legally binding e-signature under something like the ESIGN Act or eIDAS. If you need to sign a lease, a contract, or any document where legal enforceability matters, use DocuSign or a comparable service, not this tool.

No. SignPad creates a signature image, not a certified e-signature. It does not timestamp, verify identity, or generate the audit trail that makes a signature legally enforceable under e-signature law.
